Heartsaver CPR, AED and First Aid is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR, First Aid and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.

The AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Course (ACLS) is intended for Healthcare workers who direct or participate during the resuscitation of a patient. The course emphasizes the importance of good CPR to patient survival, the integration of effective basic life support with advanced cardiovascular life support interventions, and the importance of effective team interaction and communications during resuscitation.
Audience: Healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, respiratory therapist, and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency.
Students must be able to identify basic ECG rhythms prior to attending ACLS. The American Heart Association offers the Basic ECG Course for students who wish to develop or strengthen their interpretation skills prior to attending ACLS. This self-directed option called Learn: Rhythm Adult is available at OnlineAHA.Org.
ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. This course is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units.

In today’s fast-paced environment, it is not always easy for healthcare providers to keep their certifications current. The American Heart Association offers a convenient method of obtaining an AHA ACLS card. Now you can complete the course at your own pace and on your own schedule.

The AHA’s PALS Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. This classroom, Instructor-led course uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.
Students who successfully complete the PALS Course (including achieving a score of 84% or higher on the course exam) will receive a PALS Provider course completion card (print or eCard), valid for two years.
